desert conservation

ISDA's locale, the vast Sonoran Desert, encompasses 10,000 square miles of the hottest, most fragile desert ecosystem in North America.

Much of our domain consists of unfenced lands and wide open spaces. Water sources are infrequent and rain is rare, yet millions of birds, animals, plants and humans depend upon the Sonoran Desert for their survival.

For so fragile an ecosystem, ISDA believes conservation is absolutely necessary and rehabilitation is vital. The following projects are but first steps in an important part of our mission.
